The venture lets you go to one of its charging stations, hire the electric car, drive around and then leave it at another charging station. But in India would it be really environment friendly?

Electricity in India comes from burning fossil fuels, almost all. So, weather we use electric car ( carged from grid electricity that comes from fossil fuel) or drive petrol or diesel car, would it reduce CO2 emissions? In France the electiricty comes from Nuclear source , almost all. So it makes sense there.
