Underwhelmed: G 7 Summit’s pledges on climate change
In my interview by Francois Picard , well recognized expert-anchor at France 24 ,a French TV, immediately after G7 Summit 2015 in Schloss Elmau, German resort , I conveyed my cautious reaction . More than just a communiqué with big promises on emission reductions and financial assistance to developing countries climate change ,G7 need to demonstrate actions . Assessment of the past 7 years of communiqué, one has to conclude that such actions have been totally lacking. While the media is very upbeat about G7 declaration of commitment of drastic reduction in fossil fuels by 2030, 2050 and by 2100, I was realist and hence was underwhelmed by the development.
